VG Bild-Kunst Awards for Production & Costume Design
Since over 20 years, our German member VSK awards young talents with a promotional prize, which is endowed with a membership of one year, but first and foremost with 2000€ for both of the winners. It is given in cooperation with the VG Bild-Kunst, which is a German Collection Society institution and it not only was the very first award of its kind, but still to this day it is the only award for both professions including an endowment.
At the 59th Hof International Film Festival, the BILD-KUNST PROMOTIONAL AWARD FOR BEST COSTUME DESIGN and the BILD-KUNST PROMOTIONAL AWARD FOR BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN were presented for the 27th time.The 2025 award winners were POLINA SHPAZHNIKOVA, awarded for BEST COSTUME DESIGN for her work in "DAMAGED LEMONS" and THOMAS RUMP for best PRODUCTION DESIGN for his work in "LUISA".
This year's jury consisted of Costume Designers Juliane Maier and Noëmi Streber (both members of VSK), Production Designer Johanna Maul (VSK), Production Design student Philomena Schmidt (Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg), and Cinematographer Martin Farkas (German Camera Association BVK).The press release with the full jury statement can be found on VSK's website, unfortunately it is only available in German.We celebrate the two winners and the visibility for Production and Costume Design!
