Joint Statement on AI to the President of the EU Commission

Joint Statement on AI

In a joint statement on the impact of AI on European creatives, a coalition of creative organisations has addressed the newly elected members of the European Parliament. The fundamental rights of authors and artists must be protected and transparency must be guaranteed, it says on behalf of hundreds of thousands of authors, translators, artists, composers, songwriters, directors, screenwriters, visual artists, journalists and other creative workers. “For our members, AI represents an extraordinary technological advance with enormous potential to improve various aspects of our lives, including in the cultural and creative sectors,” reads the joint declaration of 23 July 2024.
